Community Mission Ministry (CMM)

“There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.”

(Deuteronomy 15:11)

Purpose Statement: To restore hope and provide opportunities for people, serve the most vulnerable children, teens and families in the communities.

We recognize that many people don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care.  In the year “2012” God gave Pastor Riley a vision to aid the underprivileged so that their Christmas season would be a more joyous and meaningful one.  In this God–given vision he was inspired to start a ministry named “Community Mission Ministry”.  He asked the parishioners and well-wishers every Sunday to plant a seed beginning in the month of January every year.  In the month of December prior to the week celebrating the Birth of Christ, a small group of our church family will go to an unannounced venue to bless underprivileged families representing all ethnicities.

After beginning with a corporate prayer, church “scouts” are dispatched in the store to listen, observe and identify people or families who are struggling with the cost of their purchase.  We immediately retrieve the desired item(s) and put them in our cart.  When the customer gets to the cash register to check out, we then give them the retrieved items and pay for everything in their cart.  Needless to say tears of joy flow from all of us involved but the glory goes to God.  This has been a very successful mission and we do thank God for what we are able to do for so many through Him.
